I’ve always had a strong passion for fashion and styling, and deciding to study it at university has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Fashion has always interested me because of the creativity and self-expression it allows, as well as the impact it has on confidence, culture, and identity. I’ve really enjoyed my foundation year and feel that it has helped me grow both creatively and personally. I’ve developed new skills and become far more confident in myself and my abilities. The course has encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone, explore new ideas, and develop my creativity through a range of projects. I’m incredibly excited to begin my Fashion Promotion degree in September and continue learning more about fashion marketing, branding, and creative communication.
Project overview
SYNX
My project focused on developing my own fashion brand, SYNX, a techno and rave-inspired brand centred around themes of friendship, movement, dance, and emotion. Drawing inspiration from underground rave culture, the brand uses bold visuals, futuristic styling, and high-energy creative direction to reflect the intensity, escapism, and immersive atmosphere of the techno scene. A key focus of SYNX is the way rave culture brings people together. I wanted to capture the sense of unity, freedom, and shared experience created within these spaces, where people connect through music, movement, and collective energy. The brand represents a feeling of connection and enjoyment, where individuality is strengthened through community and atmosphere. Through my photography and styling, I aimed to communicate this sense of friendship, emotion, and freedom. I am pleased with the final outcomes and feel the imagery successfully reflects the identity and energy behind SYNX. These ideas informed the development of a brand built around connection, belonging, and shared experience.
