About

I am interested in drawing living things, especially the human body, and started developing my passion for art through drawing animals, cartoons and comic book characters. After taking time away from drawing to explore other creative endeavors I returned to education to study illustration and further develop my understanding of visual arts. Throughout this course I discovered animation was a very rewarding process which allowed me to focus my practice on the human figure and how it moves. My work is focused on capturing movement and transferring it to animation as effectively as possible and using this knowledge to continue improving my figure drawing and animation skills.

Project overview

How can aspects of live action fight scenes inform fight scenes in animation?

My project is a fight scene, using scenes from martial arts and action films as the basis for my characters' movements to create a more realistic style of fight scene than typically used in animation. The scene is set in a social club at a meat bingo game, inspired by my local surroundings in northern England and my experience working in pubs where raffles and bingo games can get more intense and heated than you might think!
