About
I am a multidisciplinary artist based in the North of England. My practice has developed from an interest in culture, community and the everyday experiences that shape a sense of identity and belonging. Working across print, poetry, sound, textiles and installation, I combine bold, vibrant imagery with humour and storytelling. My work is rooted in Northern working-class culture, drawing on familiar places, language, characters and experiences, while questioning how these are represented, remembered and sometimes romanticised. Throughout my practice, I have explored ways of making the gallery feel more accessible and familiar, often bringing elements of everyday life and popular culture into the exhibition space. Soapboxes, listening booths, cassettes, T-shirts and spoken word become ways of encouraging participation and creating a sense of shared experience. My MA has given me the opportunity to bring these interests together and develop a more immersive, interdisciplinary approach to making work. I continue to explore the tension between celebration and critique, using humour, colour and nostalgia to examine what it means to belong to a particular place and culture.

Indecent Dissent
Indecent Dissent is a multidisciplinary exhibition exploring Northern working-class culture through humour, nostalgia, protest and everyday experience. The project brings together bold, vibrant print works, spoken word, recorded sound, textiles and installation to create an environment that sits somewhere between gallery, pub, gig and soapbox. The work considers how working-class culture is represented, remembered and consumed, questioning the tension between genuine cultural identity and its romanticisation as something to be packaged and sold. Rather than presenting a purely nostalgic view, the project embraces the contradictions within Northern culture: the humour alongside the hardship, the pride alongside the frustration, and the sense of community alongside the realities that shape it. Through the use of familiar materials and forms—including printed T-shirts, cassettes, listening booths and a soapbox—the exhibition encourages participation and challenges the expectations of the traditional gallery space. Indecent Dissent is ultimately a celebration, a critique and an invitation to recognise the value, absurdity and complexity of everyday working-class life.
