About
Over the past three years at UCLan, my journey has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. These experiences have not only strengthened my commitment to architecture but also deepened my passion for creating spaces that positively impact people's everyday lives. I view architecture as a powerful tool for shaping environments that are sustainable, culturally responsive, and socially engaging. My particular interest lies in sustainable design and its capacity to address global challenges while fostering community and storytelling through built form. I am now seeking a position as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, where I can begin my professional journey, contribute meaningfully to a dynamic practice, and build on the skills and knowledge I have developed. This role marks an important step toward my goal of becoming a chartered architect, and I am eager to continue learning, collaborating, and designing with purpose.
Project overview
Rooted In Fleetwood
The project I am exhibiting represents the culmination of my final thesis in Year 3 and showcases the evolution of my architectural thinking throughout my time at UCLan. Over the course of the degree, I have developed a deep interest in environmentally conscious design, which has become a central focus of my work. This growing passion led me to explore biophilic architecture through in-depth research into sustainable and nature-integrated design precedents. My final project responds to these ideas with a system of green biophilic “stacks” - vertical elements that inform the spatial configuration, circulation, and structural articulation of the building. This approach not only integrates natural elements within the built environment but also enhances user wellbeing and ecological performance. In parallel, my curiosity about tectonics and construction detailing has grown significantly. I have developed a strong appreciation for how materiality, assembly, and structural logic shape architectural experience - a theme reflected throughout my design process.
