About
My name is Stefania Cristina Florea and I am a fashion design graduate from the University of Central Lancashire. I infuse my work with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainability. Growing up in Romania surrounded by handmade decoration and garments has inspired me to bring a personal and sentimental touch to my designs, blending tradition with a contemporary style. I am very dedicated and patient when it comes to my craft and I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and materials.
Project overview
Rădăcini Urbane
Rădăcini Urbane (Urban Roots) is inspired by my Romanian heritage, in particular the folk costumes, creativity, and it is aimed at womenswear. This collection is very important and personal to me and I am focusing on bringing attention to heritage and traditional craftsmanship. Techniques such as embroidered textiles, layered patterns, beautiful lace trimmings, floral designs, vibrant colours and traditional fabrics are adapted to create suitable designs for a more contemporary look. I also incorporate a futuristic approach by using techniques such as 3D printing and metallic fabrics to combine tradition and modernity. Another aspect that represents me as a designer and my collection is a sustainable approach to my creative process. I am a big supporter of slow fashion and artisan techniques, and I make sure to use deadstock fabrics and charity shop finds repurposed and transformed for my collection.
